ABC Functioning Analysis

The ABC Functioning Analysis includes assessment of the client’s academic & cognitive abilities, as well as their behavioral patterns. It is primarily used in conjunction with the services provided by the Academy.  However, as an individual tool, it can be utilized in a number of capacities, including individual service plans, biopsychosocials, or general informational purposes.  Using the Assessment, we are able to tailor services to meet the needs of the individual client, and also open the lines of communication between the parents, school and service providers.

Intelligence Quotient Testing (IQ Testing)

IQ tests are administered to individuals to measure aptitude and intellectual capacities and provide an estimate of a child's mental abilities. Most IQ tests consist of subtests measuring various qualities, such as language based reasoning, short-term memory, factual knowledge, visual-spatial abilities, abstract reasoning, problem solving, awareness of common social realities, etc.

The Koi Academy may administer IQ tests to determine the areas of intelligence in which the child is lacking. IQ tests can identify problem areas in an individual’s learning abilities, allowing the specific problems to be worked on and corrected. This test may be administered in the home or on-site.

Neuropsychological Screening Examination

Neuropsychological screenings are performed in the early phases of diagnostic exploration when suspicions of brain injury or disease are reasonably considered. A neuropsychological screening is a condensed version of a full neuropsychological assessment, looking only at key sensitive areas of function.

Even though it is "screening," the examination is definitive, and once a screening points to reasonable probability that a neurological condition exists, a full neuropsychological examination is recommended to attain further diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment planning information. This test may be administered in the home or on-site.
